A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Een onvergetelijke verjaardag met DAOU & Colomé Het vieren van mijn moeders verjaardag werd nog specialer dankzij twee ongelooflijke wijnen - DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 en Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. De ster van de avond was ongetwijfeld de DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Vanaf de eerste slok werden we omarmd door een rijke, fluweelzachte smaak. De diepe aroma's van donker fruit, hints van cacao en perfect gebalanceerd eikenhout zorgden ervoor dat elk glas aanvoelde als een ware verwennerij. Hij was gedurfd en toch elegant, een wijn die moeiteloos warmte en vreugde bracht aan onze bijeenkomst. Toen ik mijn moeder elke slok met een glimlach zag proeven, was het des te gedenkwaardiger. De Colomé Auténtico Malbec leverde ook prachtig, met zijn pure expressie van hooggelegen Malbec. Hij was krachtig, met rijpe bramen, kruiden en een zachte, aanhoudende afdronk - een uitstekende aanvulling op de avond. Deze wijnen versterkten niet alleen onze maaltijd; ze werden een deel van de viering, waardoor elke toast en elk gesprek een hoogtepunt werd. Hartelijk dank aan DAOU en Colomé voor het onvergetelijk maken van deze speciale gelegenheid!

    Geïnspireerd door een reis naar Toscane richtte de familie Flam in 1998 hun wijnmakerij op in de opkomende regio van de Judean Hills, dicht bij Jeruzalem. Tegenwoordig heeft hun boetiekwijnhuis de reputatie enkele van Israëls beste koosjere wijnen te produceren, die vaak 90 plus punten halen bij internationale toprecensenten als Robert Parker.

    Deze prachtige Cabernet Sauvignon begint zijn leven in de topwijngaarden van de familie Flam in de Dishon en Ben Zimra wijngaarden in Boven-Galilea en in de Judeese heuvels. Wijnmaker Golam Flam voegt kleine hoeveelheden Merlot, Petit Verdot en Cabernet Franc aan de Cabernet toe voor extra complexiteit en een zachte, soepele textuur. Elk van deze rassen wordt afzonderlijk gerijpt in Franse eikenhouten vaten gedurende zestien maanden voordat de samenstelling van de blend wordt bepaald. De wijn wordt dan gebotteld en rijpt nog eens tien maanden in de kelder van het wijnhuis voordat hij wordt vrijgegeven.

    Wilde bramen, zwarte bessen en hints van verse munt bepalen de neus, terwijl de eerste slok een krachtige volle body onthult, een stevige structuur en rijpe smaken van donker fruit die lang op de tong blijven hangen. Het evenwicht tussen fijne tannines, rijk fruitkarakter en een heldere frisheid betekent dat dit een ideale wijn is om in je kelder te bewaren, waar hij de komende tien jaar verder zal rijpen.
