Ik vind de beoordelingen van wijnen erg handig; ze helpen enorm bij het kiezen van een wijn! Bij mijn laatste aankoop van meer dan 400 euro raakte ik in de war door de wijn- en verzendkosten in mijn winkelmandje: de wijnprijs werd zonder btw weergegeven, maar er stonden wel verzendkosten bij die niet nul waren, zoals beloofd. Bij het afrekenen leek het ineens anders: er waren geen verzendkosten, maar wel btw. Een beetje misleidend

Ik heb nog geen ervaring met deze winkel. Ik weet alleen dat ze UPS als vervoerder gebruiken en dat is niet bepaald geweldig! Ze laten niet weten rond welk tijdstip ze ongeveer aankomen! Je moet dus vrij nemen om ze niet te missen. Het is me al eens overkomen dat ik een pakketje voor de deur vond, terwijl ik thuis was! Het zou fijn zijn als de klant zelf de verzendmethode kan kiezen die hij wil en waarop hij kan vertrouwen. Ik wil de winkel echter niet in een kwaad daglicht stellen. Hun wijnen zijn, afhankelijk van het merk, uitstekend!

Bordeaux rode blends

Bordeaux rode wijnen zijn bijna altijd blends dankzij de traditionele plaatselijke gewoonte om verschillende druivensoorten te combineren om een complexe en perfect uitgebalanceerde wijn te produceren. De twee dominante druivenrassen in Bordeaux zijn Cabernet Sauvignon en Merlot, die vaak worden gemengd met Cabernet Franc, Malbec en Petit Verdot, waardoor de beste rode wijnen van Bordeaux ontstaan.

Belangrijke regio's voor Bordeaux rode blends

Bordeaux wordt over het algemeen verdeeld in twee regio's, afhankelijk van welke kant van de rivier de Gironde. Rode Bordeaux op de linkeroever bevat meestal meer Cabernet, terwijl op de rechteroever Merlot-dominante blends populairder zijn. De belangrijkste appellations op de linkeroever zijn St-Estephe, Pauillac, St-Julien en Margaux. De favoriete appellations op de rechteroever zijn Pomerol en St-Emilion. Rode Bordeaux-blends worden ook geproduceerd in veel van 's werelds beroemdste wijngebieden, waaronder Napa Valley, Chili en Italiaanse Super Tuscans zoals Sassicaia en Tignanello.

Wijncombinaties voor rode Bordeaux-blends

Linkeroever Bordeaux heeft meestal meer tannine en een aards of kruidig karakter, en kan in jonge toestand soberder zijn. Ze passen goed bij intensere gerechten als steaks, rosbief en gebraden lamsvlees. Bordeaux op de rechteroever daarentegen is meestal zachter en minder tanninerijk door het grotere aandeel Merlot. Probeer het te combineren met mager vlees zoals varkensvlees of zelfs eend. Bordeaux-blends uit de Nieuwe Wereld uit Napa of Toscane zijn meestal rijker en rijper en passen goed bij volle barbecues en stevige stoofschotels.
