UPS was horrible. First they announced the expected delivery and then they kept my wife waiting entire day and in the end did NOT deliver without any notice (!). The next morning only they advised the changed expected delivery date (!) and this time it was successful. The whole day waisted, no chance to call the courier. Awful experience! Arrogant bastards.

Italiaanse wijnen

Italië produceert al minstens 3000 jaar wijn en is nu de grootste wijnproducent ter wereld. De Etrusken en Griekse kolonisten waren de eersten die hier wijnstokken aanplantten, gevolgd door de Romeinen die in de tweede eeuw voor Christus met de wijnproductie begonnen. Italiaanse wijnen zijn over het algemeen erg lekker en gaan goed samen met de heerlijke pastagerechten van het land, stevige stoofpotten van wild en rood vlees en verse zeevruchten van de kust. Belangrijke Italiaanse wijngebieden

Wijn wordt in heel Italië geproduceerd en het land heeft 77 wettelijk omschreven appellations of regio's met het label DOCG (denomination of controlled and guaranteed origin). Producenten moeten strikte regels volgen om hun wijnen onder deze Italiaanse wijnbenamingen te etiketteren, wat helpt om in het hele land hoge kwaliteitsnormen te handhaven. De belangrijkste Italiaanse wijngebieden voor rode wijnen zijn Piemonte in het noorden, waar Barolo en Barbaresco vandaan komen, Veneto, bekend om zijn Amarone, en Toscane in het midden van het land. Italiaanse druivenrassen

Inheemse Italiaanse druivenrassen variëren van de krachtige Nebbiolo waarvan Barolo wordt gemaakt, tot etherische en verfrissende witte wijnen als Pinot Grigio, Verdicchio en Garganega waarvan Soave wordt gemaakt.
