    DAOU wijnhuis is opgericht door de broers Daniel en Georges die als kind hun geboorteland Libanon moesten ontvluchten voor een nieuw leven in Frankrijk. Hier begonnen ze verliefd te worden op de kunst van het wijn maken, hoewel ze pas na hun verhuizing naar de Verenigde Staten eindelijk de kans kregen hun eigen wijn te maken.

    Het DAOU landgoed heeft tegenwoordig zes eersteklas wijngaarden in het Adelaida District van Paso Robles. Het land ligt op een heuveltop die door de legendarische wijnmaker André Tchelistcheff werd omschreven als "een juweel van ecologische elementen". De verscheidenheid aan terroirs en microklimaten maakt dit een ideale plek om zowel zwarte als witte druivensoorten te verbouwen, waaronder de Sauvginon Blanc die voor deze botteling wordt gebruikt.

    Koelende briesjes en mist van de nabijgelegen Stille Oceaan zorgen voor ideale groeiomstandigheden voor Sauvignon Blanc, waardoor de druiven optimaal rijp worden en toch veel frisheid en aroma's behouden. De neus barst van de groene appel, citrusschil, lychee en hints van key lime pie, terwijl de eerste slok een watertandende frisheid, lichte body en zuivere, schone afdronk onthult, die prachtig combineert met zeevruchten, gegrilde vis, groene salades en romige kazen.
