    Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Deze single vineyard Merlot is gemaakt met druiven van de charmante eeuwenoude ommuurde wijngaard van Rovereti in de Negrar subregio van Valpolicella. De Clos Roareti wordt alleen gemaakt in de allerbeste wijnjaren en krijgt zijn weelderige karakter door het warme microklimaat en de kiezelachtige kleigrond die ideaal is voor de Merlot druif.

    Na de oogst wordt deze wijn met beperkte productie gedurende 10 dagen gefermenteerd in temperatuurgecontroleerde tanks. Daarna rijpt de wijn gedurende 24 maanden in eikenhouten vaten die voor 33% nieuw zijn om extra complexiteit en een heerlijk zoet kruidig karakter aan de Merlot toe te voegen. In de neus valt meteen het klassieke Merlot-karakter op van zachte rijpe bessen en geroosterde hints van het eikenhout. De eerste slok onthult een royale volle body, een fluweelzacht mondgevoel en rijke bramenjam smaken die zorgvuldig in evenwicht worden gehouden door een vleugje frisheid.

    Dankzij de stevige structuur, de langere rijping op eikenhout en het intense smaakprofiel is deze fijne Merlot een uitstekende kandidaat voor kelderrijping. Als hij onder goede omstandigheden wordt bewaard, zou hij zich de komende tien jaar moeten blijven ontwikkelen. Hij is ook ideaal om nu te drinken bij een biefstuk, wild zwijn of wildfilet.
