    Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Figuière is een familiebedrijf met een lange geschiedenis in het produceren van elegante en complexe Franse wijn. Opgericht door wijnmaker Alain Combard in 1991, wordt het wijnhuis nu gerund door zijn drie kinderen, François, Magali en Delphine. Het 44 hectare grote perceel Saint-André de Figuière, gelegen in de Côtes de Provence AOC, is de trots van de familie en vormt de basis voor hun paradepaardje Première, met zijn mineraalrijke, met kwarts doordrenkte schistbodems.

    De Première de Figuiere Red is een voorzichtige blend van magere Syrah en stemmige Mourvedre. De Syrah wordt licht overrijp geplukt, terwijl de familie Combard wacht tot de Mourvedre gerijpt is, wat bijdraagt aan de intense fruitigheid van het profiel van deze wijn.

    De neus leeft met geuren van bramen, cassis en pruimen, zoethout, chocolade en Provençaalse kruiden. Na afzonderlijke gisting rijpen de Syrah en Mourvedre 8 maanden in Franse eikenhouten vaten. Er zijn hints van eikenhout en rijpe tannines in de mond, maar de algemene indruk is er een van glad, rond en zijdeachtig karakter. Let op tonen van braam, zwarte kers en aardbei, aangevuld met hints van cacao, tabak, rozemarijn en tijm. Deze rode wijn is klaar om te drinken, maar heeft ook veel potentieel voor verdere rijping in de kelder. Combineer hem met rijk vlees of intense kazen.
