    Gelegen in Rasteau, in de zuidelijke Rhône wijnstreek, is Domaine Bressy Masson een familiebedrijf dat in 1948 werd opgericht door Marius Bressy. Het landgoed, dat zich uitstrekt over 20 hectare met gevarieerd terroir, wordt nu beheerd door Paul-Emile Masson, kleinzoon van Marius, die onlangs zijn krachten heeft gebundeld met Laurent Bréchet, eigenaar van Chateau de Vaudieu.

    De wijn is een blend van Grenache Noir en Syrah. De Grenache druiven worden verbouwd in de wijngaarden rondom het landgoed op bodems die bestaan uit blauwe mergel en fluviatiel-lacustriene conglomeraten. De Syrah komt van de stenige terrassen van Plan de Dieu en Crapon. De gisting vindt apart plaats en na een periode van maceratie worden de wijnen geraffineerd in demi muid (Syrah) en betonnen of stalen tanks (Grenache), voordat ze worden gemengd.

    Domaine Bressy Masson Rasteau heeft een diepe robijnrode kleur en een complex aromatisch profiel dat tonen onthult van bramen, zwarte bessen en frambozen, viooltjes en hints van peper. In de mond is hij dicht en fris, intens fruitig en medium van smaak. De tannines zijn stevig maar goed geïntegreerd. De afdronk is lang en herinnert aan aangename kruidige en zoethouttonen. Het is een veelzijdige wijn en past heel goed bij gegrild vlees of pittige rundvleesrecepten.
