Een onvergetelijke verjaardag met DAOU & Colomé Het vieren van mijn moeders verjaardag werd nog specialer dankzij twee ongelooflijke wijnen - DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 en Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. De ster van de avond was ongetwijfeld de DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Vanaf de eerste slok werden we omarmd door een rijke, fluweelzachte smaak. De diepe aroma's van donker fruit, hints van cacao en perfect gebalanceerd eikenhout zorgden ervoor dat elk glas aanvoelde als een ware verwennerij. Hij was gedurfd en toch elegant, een wijn die moeiteloos warmte en vreugde bracht aan onze bijeenkomst. Toen ik mijn moeder elke slok met een glimlach zag proeven, was het des te gedenkwaardiger. De Colomé Auténtico Malbec leverde ook prachtig, met zijn pure expressie van hooggelegen Malbec. Hij was krachtig, met rijpe bramen, kruiden en een zachte, aanhoudende afdronk - een uitstekende aanvulling op de avond. Deze wijnen versterkten niet alleen onze maaltijd; ze werden een deel van de viering, waardoor elke toast en elk gesprek een hoogtepunt werd. Hartelijk dank aan DAOU en Colomé voor het onvergetelijk maken van deze speciale gelegenheid!

    A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Figuière is een wijnhuis uit de Provence, gebracht door de familie Combard. Het werd in 1991 overgenomen door Alain Combard, een verloren zoon van de Cote d'Azur die zijn wijnmakerij in Chablis verliet om naar huis terug te keren. Tegenwoordig wordt het wijnhuis gerund door drie zonen en dochters van Alain: François, Magali en Delphine.

    Het Confidentielle gamma wil de ware aard van Saint-André de Figuière uitdrukken, het oorspronkelijke perceel van 44 hectare dat Alain Combard in 1991 kocht. Het is een mineraalrijk, op leisteen gebaseerd perceel binnen de Côtes de Provence La Londe AOP, waardoor de wijnen een sterke mineraliteit en een zuiver karakter krijgen.

    De Confidentielle Rosé is een gedistingeerde wijn met een aantrekkelijke zalmroze kleur. De neus is verlegen maar complex, met geuren van perzik, citrusvruchten, abrikoos en peper. Wat de Confidentielle echter onderscheidt is zijn sterke element van mineraliteit. Deze mengeling van Cinsault, Mourvedre en Grenache vertoont een aangename ziltheid op de tong, samen met speelse fruittonen en toetsen van zoethout en peper. Het geheel maakt een ronde, mond-omhullende indruk, fris gehouden door een ruggengraat van levendige zuurgraad. Hij biedt mogelijkheden voor fantastische gastronomische ervaringen. Overweeg hem gekoeld te serveren bij een kreeftenschotel, licht gekruide sint-jakobsschelpen of gebraden kip.
