Een onvergetelijke verjaardag met DAOU & Colomé Het vieren van mijn moeders verjaardag werd nog specialer dankzij twee ongelooflijke wijnen - DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 en Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. De ster van de avond was ongetwijfeld de DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Vanaf de eerste slok werden we omarmd door een rijke, fluweelzachte smaak. De diepe aroma's van donker fruit, hints van cacao en perfect gebalanceerd eikenhout zorgden ervoor dat elk glas aanvoelde als een ware verwennerij. Hij was gedurfd en toch elegant, een wijn die moeiteloos warmte en vreugde bracht aan onze bijeenkomst. Toen ik mijn moeder elke slok met een glimlach zag proeven, was het des te gedenkwaardiger. De Colomé Auténtico Malbec leverde ook prachtig, met zijn pure expressie van hooggelegen Malbec. Hij was krachtig, met rijpe bramen, kruiden en een zachte, aanhoudende afdronk - een uitstekende aanvulling op de avond. Deze wijnen versterkten niet alleen onze maaltijd; ze werden een deel van de viering, waardoor elke toast en elk gesprek een hoogtepunt werd. Hartelijk dank aan DAOU en Colomé voor het onvergetelijk maken van deze speciale gelegenheid!

    A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Deze delicate rosé uit de Provence, het jongere broertje van de wereldberoemde Whispering Angel, is een zorgvuldig samengestelde blend van Grenache-, Cinsault- en Syrah-druiven van topwijngaarden in de Côteaux d'Aix-en-Provence. De betoverende balletschoentint wordt aangevuld met een bedwelmende geur van geplette aardbeien, witte perziken en gedroogde rozenblaadjes. Neem een slok en u voelt zich onmiddellijk verfrist door de knapperige zuurgraad en de levendige smaken van rode kersen, frambozen en rode bessen.

    De lichte, levendige en elegante Palm is een uitstekende keuze om te serveren bij een ontspannen al fresco lunch van nicoise salade of gegrilde zalm. Dankzij zijn vrolijke, uiterst drinkbare persoonlijkheid is hij ook perfect om alleen bij het zwembad te drinken terwijl u aan uw kleurtje werkt of gewoon geniet van wat welverdiende rust.

    Het wijnhuis achter het enorm succesvolle merk Whispering Angel, Château d'Esclans, heeft 44 hectare wijngaard, gelegen op zo'n 25 kilometer afstand van de Middellandse Zee en de oude Romeinse stad Frejus. De trots van het chateau zijn de oude Grenache wijnstokken die bijdragen aan wijnen met veel karakter en geconcentreerde smaken. In 2006 werd het domein gekocht door de huidige eigenaar, Sacha Lichine, die alom geprezen wordt voor de transformatie van Provençaalse rosé in een chique, glamoureuze wijn, geïnspireerd op de stijlvolle lokale badplaatsen St Tropez en Cannes.
