    Hesiod verwees in zijn geschriften naar het beroemde wijngebied van Biblia Chora, en nu duizenden jaren later leeft die erfenis voort dankzij het moderne wijnhuis dat in 1998 werd opgericht door de getalenteerde wijnmakers Vangelis Gerovassiliou en Vassilis Tsaktsarlis. De regio, gelegen op de hellingen rond de berg Pangeon, werd beroemd door een speciale druif die de Feniciërs uit hun thuisstad Byblos meebrachten. Nu blijft het wijnhuis Biblia Chora de wereld imponeren met zijn prachtige wijnen van zowel lokale als internationale druivensoorten.

    Deze pittige rode blend vertegenwoordigt de moderne kant van Biblia Chora, gemaakt van 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, afkomstig van de allereerste wijngaard die op het landgoed is aangeplant. Eenmaal in de wijnmakerij worden de druiven langdurig geweekt en de resulterende wijn rijpt 16 maanden in nieuwe Franse eiken vaten, gevolgd door nog eens 24 maanden rijping op fles.

    In het glas vallen onmiddellijk de diepe inktachtige tint en de indrukwekkende aroma's van geplette cassis, bramen, tabaksblad en cederhout op. De eerste slok onthult veel stevige tannines, een volle body en een stevige kern van fruit die blijft hangen in de mond. De kracht en het evenwicht van deze rode wijn maken hem tot een uitstekende keuze om nog een paar jaar te bewaren of om nu te serveren bij wild- of roodvleesgerechten.
