    Diep robijnrood van kleur, deze Bordeaux blend van Cabernet Sauvignon (82%), Petit Verdot (11%), Malbec (4%), Merlot (2%) en Cabernet Franc (1%) levert een fantastische wijn van de hoogste kwaliteit. De neus biedt zwarte bessen, rode bessen, munt, zoethout, tabak en boterachtige vanilletonen. Het gehemelte toont een groot aantal complexe lagen in de wijn en smaken van rijp zwart fruit, rode kersen, chocolade en koffie. Het eikenhout overheerst, maar door de volle smaak van de wijn zijn de hoge gehaltes mooi geïntegreerd met het zuur en de alcohol, wat zorgt voor een geweldige balans. De afdronk is lang met geconcentreerde tonen van kruiden en vanille.

    Goede bijpassende gerechten zijn rundvlees, lam, wild, hertenvlees, sterke kaas.

    De Joseph Phelps Winery doet er alles aan om het fruit in perfecte conditie te houden, inclusief handmatige oogst voor zonsopgang, handmatige sortering, zachte persing en lange, langzame fermentaties. De resulterende wijnen rijpen 24 maanden in 100% nieuw eikenhout en zijn complex, van hoge kwaliteit en zeer gewild. De overtuiging is dat het terroir de wijn maakt - een feit waar Joseph Phelps in gelooft en waarmaakt.

    The nose offers blackcurrant, red currant, mint, liquorice and tobacco and buttery vanilla notes. The palate shows flavours of ripe black fruit, red cherry, chocolate and coffee.
