    Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    De familie Usseglio produceert al sinds 1948 wijn in het wijngebied in de zuidelijke Rhônevallei. Francis Usseglio was de eerste die het bedrijf startte na zijn emigratie uit Italië. Zijn zoon Raymond breidde de oppervlakte van het land uit en vandaag de dag is het Stephane die het bedrijf leidt. De wijngaarden strekken zich uit over 24 hectare en worden biologisch verbouwd.

    Châteauneuf Du Pape Fragments is een blend van voornamelijk Grenache, met toevoegingen van Syrah, Mourvedre, Counoise en Clairette, afkomstig van verschillende percelen, zodat de verschillende terroirs een evenwichtig en complex geheel vormen. De vinificatie vindt voor de helft plaats in cementen eieren en voor de helft in amfora's van klei, om de maximale fruitige expressie van de wijn te garanderen.

    Het resultaat is een levendige en geurige wijn met intense aroma's van rood fruit (vooral moerbei en bosbes), mediterrane kruiden zoals tijm, marjolein en lavendel, en enkele hints van zoethout. In de mond is hij diep en dynamisch met een aangename fruitige intensiteit en een volle body. De tannines zijn goed geïntegreerd en de afdronk is lang, fris en aanhoudend. Hij past uitstekend bij gebraden lamsvlees in Griekse stijl.
