    Gesticht door de voormalige antiekhandelaar Fred Schrader in 1998, is Schrader Cellars een zeer prestigieus wijnhuis dat een reeks Napa Valley wijnen produceert, met de nadruk op premium single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. Hun belangrijkste en beroemdste wijngaard is ongetwijfeld de Beckstoffer To Kalon in Oakville, waar de ligging, de kustwind en de bodem met een hoog mineraalgehalte ideale groeiomstandigheden voor Cabernet Sauvignon garanderen. De kelderpraktijken worden geleid door wijnmaker Thomas Rivers Brown.

    De Cabernet Sauvignon druiven voor deze topwijn zijn geselecteerd uit topwijngaarden in Napa Valley, waaronder de beroemde Beckstoffer To Kalon en Beckstoffer Georges III wijngaarden. De wijn rijpt in Franse eikenhouten vaten (50% nieuw).

    De wijn heeft een intense en diep paarse kleur. In de neus onthult hij een complex aromatisch profiel met aroma's van framboos, braam en andere kleine bessen, cederhout, munt en theeblaadjes. In de mond is hij zijdeachtig en geconcentreerd met tonen van rijp donker fruit, bloemen en chocolade. Het is een krachtige maar ook zeer dynamische wijn, met een evenwichtige frisheid en een stevige tanninestructuur. Deze Cabernet is direct op dronk, misschien in combinatie met rundvlees of wild met een chocoladesaus, maar hij kan ook een paar jaar in de kelder blijven.
