    Geniet er nu van of bewaar hem een paar jaar in een kelder. Je hoeft niet te decanteren voor het serveren.

    Deze Khikhvi wijn heeft een prachtige amberkleur in het glas, met een intense neus van witte perzik, gedroogde abrikoos, boekweithoning en vers geplukt boomgaardfruit. De Khikhvi druiven zijn geoogst in de gewaardeerde regio Kakheti, met name in de microklimaten Napareuli, Tsinandali en Magraani. Met een gemiddelde leeftijd van 20-40 jaar balanceert deze wijn een volwassen karakter met inherente frisheid.

    Vine Ponto is opgericht in 2014 en wordt geleid door wijnmaker Giorgi Bakuradze. Hij legt de nadruk op het behouden en verbeteren van traditionele Georgische technieken, zoals de qvevri potten van klei waarin deze wijn is gefermenteerd. De naam Vine Ponto is ook een verwijzing naar de oude wijnbouwgeschiedenis van het land en herinnert ons aan het feit dat Georgië het beginpunt is van de praktijk van het wijnmaken zoals we die vandaag de dag kennen.

    Het smaakpalet is tanninerijk en vol, met een aangename eikenhouten omlijning, verkregen door rijping in eikenhouten vaten. De meeste wijnen van Vine Ponto rijpen op eikenhout, na 6 maanden gisting in qvevri. Qua smaak ontdek je heerlijke hints van peer, grapefruit en honing. De subtiele zoetheid wordt uitgebalanceerd door een aangenaam bittertje in de afdronk, vergelijkbaar met een kopje sterke kruidenthee. Khikhvi is perfect om te combineren met zachte kazen, mals lamsvlees of gevogelte.
