    Gruner Veltliner is het kroonjuweel van de Oostenrijkse wijnproductie, dankzij de voortreffelijke en unieke witte wijnen die nu in het hele land worden geproduceerd. De familie Schuster maakt al 250 jaar wijn en concentreert zich op het gebruik van traditionele lokale rassen zoals Gruner en de zeldzamere Roter Veltliner. Door hun oude familieband met de wijnstok zijn ze zich zeer bewust van hun plaats in de natuur en streven ze ernaar in harmonie met de aarde te werken.

    De druiven voor de Alte Reben worden met de hand geoogst van 50 tot 60 jaar oude wijnstokken op twee verschillende percelen. Na aankomst in de wijnmakerij ondergaan de druiven een langzame gisting in temperatuurgecontroleerde roestvrijstalen tanks om de frisheid en het pure raskarakter te behouden. De wijn wordt vervolgens een tijd op de droesem bewaard voordat hij wordt gebotteld.

    De Alte Reben is echt een bijzondere Gruner Veltliner dankzij het gebruik van oude wijnstokken met zeer diepe wortels, die ongelooflijk geconcentreerde druiven voortbrengen met een uitzonderlijk gericht en nauwkeurig smaakprofiel. In de neus zijn er gulle groene appel, citrus en verse kruiden, terwijl het gehemelte een verrukkelijke frisheid biedt, een lichte body en hints van gebakken appels, oregano, tijm en een zilte mineraliteit.
