    Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Voorheen uitgeroepen tot "Winery of the Year" door Food & Wine magazine, werd Long Shadows opgericht door Allen Shoup die Chateau Ste. Michelle op de kaart hielp zetten voor wijnen van wereldklasse in Washington tijdens zijn 20-jarige periode daar. In 2003 besloot Allen een nieuw project te starten om de schittering van de Columbia Valley onder de aandacht te brengen met behulp van de expertise en het talent van veel van 's werelds beste wijnmakers.

    Deze bijzondere cuvee werd gemaakt ter ere van Allen's moeder, Elizabeth Chester, en zijn grootmoeder, Maggie Kidder, door Long Shadow's Director of Winemaking, Gilles Nicault. Het is een moderne Bordeaux-stijl blend samengesteld uit Cabernet Sauvignon en Syrah met een vleugje Petit Verdot. Het fruit komt uit de Walla Walla Valley en wordt langdurig gemacereerd om veel tannine en kleur te onttrekken.

    In de neus domineren krachtige tonen van cassis, wilde bessen en kruiden, dankzij de lange rijping in nieuwe Franse eiken vaten. In de mond is er een royale volle body, stevige tannines en een stevige kern van donker fruit die blijft hangen op de tong. Probeer hem te combineren met stevige gerechten zoals gebarbecuede ribbetjes of een biefstuk om de rijke fruitsmaken tot hun recht te laten komen.
