    Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Het Château Malmaison ligt in de appellation Moulis-en-Médoc en heeft een eeuwenoude traditie die teruggaat tot de middeleeuwen. Na een lange periode van verwaarlozing werd het domein in de jaren 1970 gekocht door Edmond de Rothschild, die de 24 hectare wijngaarden herinrichtte en herbeplantte met Merlot en Cabernet Sauvignon. De wijnstokken profiteren hier van een uitzonderlijk terroir met klei-kalksteenbodems en een kalkrijk substraat dat garant staat voor de productie van Bordeaux-wijnen van hoge kwaliteit.

    De blend bestaat voornamelijk uit Merlot met een kleiner percentage Cabernet Sauvignon. De druiven worden handmatig geselecteerd en geoogst. Na de vinificatie, die plaatsvindt in staal bij een gecontroleerde temperatuur, rust de wijn 16 maanden in vaten voordat hij wordt gebotteld.

    Chateau Malmaison Moulis en Medoc onthult een dichte, donkere kleur met paarse tinten. Het aromatische profiel is breed en intens fruitig met tonen van framboos, morellen, zwarte bes en pruim en een ondertoon van koffie en tabak. In de mond is hij zacht en medium van smaak. Hij heeft een fruitig karakter met plantaardige tonen en zachte, goed geïntegreerde tannines. De afdronk is fris en aanhoudend. Hij is uitstekend bij gestoofd of gegrild rood vlees.
