    La Crema werd in 1979 opgericht als "La Crema Viñera", oftewel "Het beste van de wijnstok". Het wijnhuis heeft zich altijd gericht op kwaliteit boven kwantiteit, door te zoeken naar kleine wijngaardpercelen die de meest geconcentreerde druiven opleveren. In 1993 werd La Crema overgenomen door Jackson Family Wines, wat de deuren opende voor meer variëteiten en koelklimaatwijngaarden in heel Californië.

    Het wijnhuis heeft een bijzondere belangstelling voor de export van Bourgondië, waarbij Pinot Noir en Chardonnay het grootste deel van hun prachtige wijnassortiment uitmaken. Hun hoofdkantoor ligt in de met mist gevulde heuvels van de Russian River Valley, maar ze hebben ook een landgoed op de beroemde Saralee's wijngaard in dezelfde regio.

    De druiven voor deze Chardonnay zijn afkomstig van La Crema's thuisbasis. De Russian River Valley Chardonnay barst van de aroma's van ananas en citroen, en noties van boterachtig brood, eikenhout en gezonde kruiden. In de mond vloeien smaken van zoete meloen, ondersteund door sinaasappelschil en rijpe peer. Hij heeft een sappig mondgevoel, met een verfrissende zuurgraad. Deze Chardonnay past perfect bij romige pasta- of rijstgerechten en bij alle zeevruchten met een pittig citruselement.
