    Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Hedges Family Estate is een familiebedrijf opgericht door Tom Hedges en Anne-Marie Liégeois in het hart van het wijngebied van Washington. Na dertig jaar kan het wijnhuis er nu trots op zijn dat het een fundamentele rol heeft gespeeld bij het vestigen van de moderne wijnindustrie van Washington en in het bijzonder bij het ontstaan van de kleine AVA van Red Mountain.

    Deze Cabernet Sauvignon, geproduceerd in het kleine Amerikaanse wijnbouwgebied Red Mountain, in de Amerikaanse staat Washington, bevat 8% Merlot, 5% Malbec, 3% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot en 1% Syrah. De druiven worden geoogst van de wijngaarden Hedges, Bel 'Villa, Jolet, Magdalena en Les Gosses. De wijn rijpt 23 maanden in 47% nieuwe eikenhouten vaten (74% Frans en 26% Amerikaans).

    De wijn vertoont een prachtige intense robijnrode kleur. Het geurprofiel is rijk en complex met aroma's van wilde bessen, veenbes, bloemige tonen van viooltjes en rode rozen, enkele nuances van zoete specerijen, en meer tabak, salie, eucalyptus en grafiet. Het is een medium volle wijn, met sterke tannines en een ongelooflijke balans. De heerlijke en lange afdronk herinnert aan smaken van zwart fruit. Geniet ervan bij BBQ ribben of Beef Bourguignon of een stoofpotje van wild zwijn.
