    Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Gelegen in het hart van de Red Mountain AVA van de staat Washington, is Hedges Family Estate een gevestigd familiebedrijf dat door zijn pioniersrol in de plaatselijke wijnindustrie tot de belangrijkste van het gebied wordt gerekend.

    De Hedges Family Red Mountain Blend is een klassieke Bordeaux blend van 43% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Syrah, 4% Cabernet Franc, 7% Malbec, en 3% Petit Verdot, met zeer kleine toevoegingen van druiven van Portugese oorsprong zoals Souzao, la Touriga, en de Tinta Cao. Druiven van de Hedges, Bel 'Villa, Les Gosses Magdalena, en Jolet wijngaarden in het Red Mountain wijngebied worden met de hand geplukt en vervoerd naar de nabijgelegen wijnmakerij. De uiteindelijke wijn rijpt 21 maanden in nieuwe en gebruikte Amerikaanse (61%) en Franse (39%) eikenhouten vaten.

    De wijn, geproduceerd uit biodynamische landbouw, heeft een diep robijnrode kleur. De neus onthult intense aroma's van donker fruit als cassis, braam en pruim, gevolgd door kruiden, tabak, koffie en hints van kruidnagel. In de mond is hij vol, zeer warm, rond, droog, hartig en met perfect uitgebalanceerde tannines. De afdronk is lang en soepel. Hij is klaar om nu van te genieten, maar kan ook goed ouder worden. Hij past goed bij eend of gans, maar ook bij scherpe Pecorino-kaas en paddenstoelen.

    Located in the heart of Washington State's Red Mountain AVA, Hedges Family Estate is an established family business considered among the most important in the area due to its pioneering role in the local wine industry. Produced from biodynamic agriculture, the wine shows a deep ruby red color. The nose reveals intense aromas of dark fruit like cassis, blackberry, and plum followed by herbs, tobacco, coffee, and hints of cloves.
