    De beroemde en prestigieuze Rothschild familie heeft een lange wijnbouwtraditie die teruggaat tot 1868 toen James de Rothschild Château Lafite kocht. Ongeveer een eeuw later werden de bezittingen van de familie uitgebreid met de aankoop van Château Clarke en Château Malmaison door Baron Edmond de Rothschild, en vervolgens met de oprichting van de Compagnie Vinicole Baron Edmond de Rothschild, die nu bezittingen heeft in Zuid-Afrika, Argentinië en Nieuw-Zeeland.

    Rimapere Plot 101 wordt gemaakt van Sauvignon Blanc druiven van wijngaarden op het Nieuw-Zeelandse landgoed Rimapere in de Marlborough wijnregio op het Zuidereiland. De wijnstokken, geplant op steenachtige grond, zijn ongeveer 20 jaar oud. De druiven worden in hele trossen geperst en de gisting vindt deels op hout en deels in staal plaats.

    De wijn heeft een strogele kleur met groenige tinten. Het smaakprofiel is intens en fris, zoals je zou verwachten van een typische Nieuw-Zeelandse Sauvignon Blanc. De neus onthult aroma's van limoen, citroen, grapefruit en witte bloemen met wat lichte hints van gist. In de mond is hij fris en fris, citrusachtig en dorstlessend. De afdronk is lang en verfrissend. Het is een geweldig zomers aperitief, maar ook uitstekend bij zeevruchten, risotto met asperges en gemengde salades.
