    Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Nu drinken of een paar jaar bewaren. Hij hoeft niet te decanteren, maar kan profiteren van een adempauze voor het serveren.

    Cambria's landgoed ligt in de schilderachtige Santa Maria Valley, in Santa Barbara County. Ze hebben diepe wortels in de regio - een perceel van het landgoed, dat oorspronkelijk Tepusquet Vineyard heette, was een van de allereerste wijngaarden die in het gebied werden aangeplant, in 1971. Julia's Vineyard is een deel van die oude wijngaard en is de geboorteplaats van een aantal werkelijk uitstekende Pinot Noir.

    Het wijnhuis staat momenteel onder leiding van Denise Shurtleff, die er sinds 1999 bij betrokken is. De regio Santa Maria Valley onderscheidt zich door zijn dwarse bergketen, die van oost naar west loopt. Koele lucht wordt vanaf de Stille Oceaan landinwaarts geleid, en koelt wat anders een typisch heet Californisch klimaat zou zijn.

    Deze wijn is gemaakt van 100% Pinot Noir, afkomstig van Julia's Vineyard. In de neus ontmoeten framboos en granaatappel een mintkleurige oceanische frisheid - de wijngaard ligt slechts 15 kilometer van de Stille Oceaan. Vertrouwde smaken van braam en bosbes ontmoeten elkaar in de mond, gevolgd door wat rood fruit, een hartige aardsheid en kaneel en salie. Hij past goed bij umami- en paddestoelgerechten, milde kazen, vis of gevogelte.
