    Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Gelegen bij het historische Sonoma Plaza in het hart van Sonoma County, produceert het wijnhuis WALT hoogwaardige Pinot Noirs en Chardonnays met druiven van wijngaarden verspreid over Sta. Rita Hills, Sonoma County, Anderson Valley en Willamette Valley. Het werk in de wijngaard en de kelder wordt geleid door Steve Leveque en Megan Gunderson met een non-interventionistische filosofie, gericht op de maximale expressie van de druiven en het terroir van herkomst.

    De Pinot Noir druiven komen van Rita's Crown wijngaard, gelegen op de top van een heuvel op kleiachtige en zanderige kalksteen bodems. Hier bevorderen de bodem- en klimaatomstandigheden de productie van intens geparfumeerde wijnen met een duidelijke minerale ader.

    De Walt Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir is een rijke en elegante wijn, gekenmerkt door een levendige en heldere robijnrode kleur. In de neus onthult de wijn een boeiend bouquet met aroma's van rood fruit zoals granaatappel, frambozen en kersen, gevolgd door viooltjes, aardse en zoethout tonen. In de mond is hij vlezig en krachtig, met behoud van een elegante gratie en een goed evenwicht. Hij is levendig en fris en heeft een lange, licht kruidige afdronk. Hij is perfect bij kwartel, eend en gans.
