Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Gelegen in de wijnstreek Mendoza, aan de voet van de heuvel Tupungato, maakt Callejón del Crimen deel uit van de wijngroep Vinos de La Luz, een familiebedrijf. Het bedrijf dat ook kelders en wijngaarden in Italië en Spanje bezit, staat bekend om de productie van kwaliteitswijnen, geproduceerd dankzij het gebruik van moderne technologieën, maar altijd zeer karakteristiek voor het gebied. De kelder van Callejon del Crimen is onlangs, begin 2000, gerenoveerd en voorzien van airconditioning om plotselinge temperatuurschommelingen, typisch voor dit deel van Argentinië, te voorkomen.

    De Malbec druiven voor de Relatos del Callejon worden met de hand geselecteerd en geoogst op grote hoogte in de Vista Flores wijngaard. De afgewerkte wijn rijpt 8 maanden in Franse eikenhouten vaten.

    Deze uitzonderlijke, bekroonde Argentijnse Malbec heeft een intens en elegant smaakprofiel met tonen van viooltjes, pruimen, bramen, zwarte kersen, en wat kruidige nuances die complexiteit toevoegen. In de mond is hij fris en mager met een goede concentratie van fruit en zachte en evenwichtige tannines. De afdronk is breed en aanhoudend met tonen van cederhout, tijm en pruimen. Hij past uitstekend bij eendenvlees, lamsvlees of gebakken pasta.
