A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Een onvergetelijke verjaardag met DAOU & Colomé Het vieren van mijn moeders verjaardag werd nog specialer dankzij twee ongelooflijke wijnen - DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 en Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. De ster van de avond was ongetwijfeld de DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Vanaf de eerste slok werden we omarmd door een rijke, fluweelzachte smaak. De diepe aroma's van donker fruit, hints van cacao en perfect gebalanceerd eikenhout zorgden ervoor dat elk glas aanvoelde als een ware verwennerij. Hij was gedurfd en toch elegant, een wijn die moeiteloos warmte en vreugde bracht aan onze bijeenkomst. Toen ik mijn moeder elke slok met een glimlach zag proeven, was het des te gedenkwaardiger. De Colomé Auténtico Malbec leverde ook prachtig, met zijn pure expressie van hooggelegen Malbec. Hij was krachtig, met rijpe bramen, kruiden en een zachte, aanhoudende afdronk - een uitstekende aanvulling op de avond. Deze wijnen versterkten niet alleen onze maaltijd; ze werden een deel van de viering, waardoor elke toast en elk gesprek een hoogtepunt werd. Hartelijk dank aan DAOU en Colomé voor het onvergetelijk maken van deze speciale gelegenheid!

    Het wijnhuis Biblia Chora ontleent zijn naam aan de oude benaming voor het wijngebied aan de voet van de berg Pangeon in het noordoosten van Griekenland. In 1998 vonden de bekende wijnmakers Vangelis Gerovassiliou en Vassilis Tsaktsarlis hier de perfecte locatie voor hun nieuwe wijnmakerij. Vandaag heeft het domein ongeveer 65 hectare beplant met zowel inheemse Griekse als internationale variëteiten die allemaal biologisch worden verbouwd.

    Deze prachtige rosé is gemaakt van Syrah-druiven afkomstig van de koelste wijngaarden op het landgoed Biblia Chora, waar de omstandigheden uitstekend zijn voor het maken van frisse en aromatische roséwijnen. De druiven worden zorgvuldig geselecteerd en geoogst bij optimale rijpheid en vervolgens gefermenteerd in temperatuurgecontroleerde neutrale tanks om de natuurlijke elegantie en kwaliteit van het fruit te benadrukken.

    Verwacht een prachtige lichtroze tint in het glas en betoverende hints van granaatappel, rozenblaadjes, pittige citroen en vers gesneden kruiden. In de mond is er een verfrissende zuurgraad samen met rijke rode bessentonen zoals framboos, veenbes en aardbei die een tijdje op de tong blijven hangen. Probeer deze voortreffelijke wijn eens te combineren met verse zeevruchten, gegrilde vis, sushi of bladerrijke zomersalades met geitenkaas.
