    Het label Angeline, opgericht en geleid door Courtney Benham, eigenaar van de historische Martin Ray Vineyards & Winery in de Russian River Valley, produceert betaalbare Californische wijnen van topkwaliteit door druiven te betrekken van een netwerk van topkwekers in de staat.

    De Pinot Noir druiven voor deze Reserve wijn worden met de hand geselecteerd en geoogst in de heuvelachtige wijngaarden van Mendocino County. De gisting vindt plaats bij een gecontroleerde temperatuur gedurende 8 tot 12 dagen. De afgewerkte wijn rijpt vervolgens 9 maanden in Franse eiken vaten (30% nieuw).

    De wijn heeft een heldere robijnrode kleur met karmozijnrode tonen. In de neus onthult hij een breed en complex aromatisch profiel met een gevarieerd boeket van rode en wilde bessen (braam, framboos, kers, bosbes) en vervolgens specerijen, thee en hibiscusbloemen. In de mond is hij intens en geconcentreerd, sappig en zacht. De tannines zijn fluweelzacht en de zuren zijn goed in balans. Het is een fruitige en elegante wijn met wat minerale hints en een lange en aanhoudende afdronk die doet denken aan lichte kruidige tonen. Uitstekend bij varkensvlees, eend en kazen van gemiddelde leeftijd.
