Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Het wijnhuis Tchotiashvili produceert hoogwaardige en succesvolle Georgische wijnen van oude druiven uit de regio Kakheti. De wijngaarden worden bewerkt met natuurlijke methoden en de druiven worden behandeld volgens traditionele methoden waarvan de kennis al eeuwenlang van vader op zoon wordt doorgegeven.

    De wijnstokken voor deze Saperavi wijn werden in 1980 geplant in de regio Inner Kakheti, aan de voet van de Kaukasus berg, 480 meter boven de zeespiegel. Alleen de beste druiven van de wijngaard komen in deze Limited Reserve terecht. De druiven ondergaan 3,5 maand maceratie op de volle schillen, pitten en stengels in Qvevri, en fermenteren natuurlijk met wilde gisten voordat ze 3 maanden in eikenhouten vaten gaan. De wijn wordt later ongefilterd gebotteld.

    De Tchotiashvili Saperavi Reserve is een serieuze wijn. Hij heeft een diepe granaatappel kleur. Hij is dicht en bijna taai. In de neus gaat het om donkere bessen, zwarte bessen, vanille, kaneel, koffie en zoethout. In de mond is hij rijk en sterk, krachtig en tanninerijk met een lange en verleidelijke afdronk. Probeer hem eens bij eend, gans, duif en ander vederwild.
