Een onvergetelijke verjaardag met DAOU & Colomé Het vieren van mijn moeders verjaardag werd nog specialer dankzij twee ongelooflijke wijnen - DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 en Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. De ster van de avond was ongetwijfeld de DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Vanaf de eerste slok werden we omarmd door een rijke, fluweelzachte smaak. De diepe aroma's van donker fruit, hints van cacao en perfect gebalanceerd eikenhout zorgden ervoor dat elk glas aanvoelde als een ware verwennerij. Hij was gedurfd en toch elegant, een wijn die moeiteloos warmte en vreugde bracht aan onze bijeenkomst. Toen ik mijn moeder elke slok met een glimlach zag proeven, was het des te gedenkwaardiger. De Colomé Auténtico Malbec leverde ook prachtig, met zijn pure expressie van hooggelegen Malbec. Hij was krachtig, met rijpe bramen, kruiden en een zachte, aanhoudende afdronk - een uitstekende aanvulling op de avond. Deze wijnen versterkten niet alleen onze maaltijd; ze werden een deel van de viering, waardoor elke toast en elk gesprek een hoogtepunt werd. Hartelijk dank aan DAOU en Colomé voor het onvergetelijk maken van deze speciale gelegenheid!

    Gelegen bij het bescheiden stadje Gioia del Colle in het zuidoosten van Puglia, werd het wijnhuis Polvanera in 2003 opgericht door Filippo Cassano. Cassano's project was een manier om terug te keren naar de historische wijnbouw wortels van zijn familie en hij besloot de onderneming te noemen naar het "polvanera" of "zwarte stof" dat de plaatselijke bodem kenmerkt. Alle wijngaarden van Cassano worden biologisch bewerkt om het best mogelijke fruit te produceren en de percelen liggen op een hoogte van 300-450 meter, waardoor zijn weelderige, volle wijnen in balans zijn met veel frisheid.

    Hoewel Puglia vooral bekend is om zijn krachtige rode wijnen gemaakt van de plaatselijke Primitivo druif, laat Cassano's Minutolo het potentieel zien van de witte wijnen uit de regio. Deze frisse witte wijn is gemaakt van 100% Fiano, gevinifieerd in roestvrijstalen tanks om het pure, natuurlijke karakter van de druif te behouden en de frisse smaak te behouden.

    Delicate hints van bergamot, frisse citrus, perzik en abrikoos bepalen de neus, terwijl het gehemelte helder en schoon is met rijp steenfruit, geaccentueerd met pittige grapefruit- en kamilletonen. De lichte body en pittige zuurgraad maken dit een fantastische partner voor zeevruchten, sushi en de meeste visgerechten, hoewel hij zich ook thuis voelt als verfrissend aperitief.
