    In 1982 opgericht door Jess Jackson, was het wijnhuis Kendall-Jackson het startpunt van het bedrijf Jackson Family Wines, dat enorm invloedrijk is geworden, zowel in binnen- als buitenland. Ondanks het enorme succes is wijnhuis Kendall-Jackson trouw gebleven aan zijn wortels. Het wordt nog steeds geleid door "Winemaster" Randy Ullom en blijft het handelsmerk Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay produceren, waarmee Jess Jackson in 1983 begon.

    Vintner's Reserve is nog steeds Amerika's best verkopende Chardonnay, 30 jaar nadat het voor het eerst op de markt verscheen. Tegenwoordig is het een symbool van heel Californië, gemaakt van druiven afkomstig van uitstekende wijngaarden uit de hele staat.

    Met een open boeket van gele appel, tropisch fruit en citroenschil met hints van boter en honing is deze wijn de typische Californische Chardonnay. Hij heeft een romige textuur in de mond, met een aangenaam zuurtje. Elke wijngaard brengt een ander element in de blend. De Santa Barbara druiven geven tonen van tropisch fruit, terwijl Monterey County een citrusruggengraat geeft. Mendocino brengt een vleugje groene appelschil, en Sonoma biedt weelderige peer. Allemaal afkomstig van koele wijngaarden aan de kust en de gecombineerde vruchten zorgen voor een ware traktatie. Het beste te serveren op kamertemperatuur, bij wit vlees of vis.
