    Dit is een briljante Brunello, die opent met bedwelmende aroma's van braam, bosbes, laurier, geplette blauwe mediterrane bloemen en warm leer. Hij is gemaakt van 100% Sangiovese, maar het wijnhuis Il Marroneto is erin geslaagd om een echt uniek elegant karakter in deze standvastig traditionele Montalcino te verwerken. Het is een lange brander, ideaal voor ontspannen avonden en gezonde maaltijden met vrienden.

    Il Marroneto begon in 1975, toen Alessandro Mori en zijn broer de eerste wijngaarden aanplantten op de grond van de heuvel van Montalcino, met uitzicht op de oude stad Siena. De gebroeders Mori werken nog steeds op de wijnmakerij en houden toezicht op elke stap van Il Marroneto's minimale interventie in het wijnmaken. Op klassieke Toscaanse wijze is de gezondheid van het land van het grootste belang, zodat de zon, de bodem en de druif in elke fles kunnen schitteren.

    Deze Brunello di Montalcino is vol en toch ongelooflijk mager. Hij combineert een krachtige, tanninerijke textuur met een fantastische zure spanning, dankzij de ligging van de wijngaard op 400 meter boven zeeniveau. In de mond ontdek je tonen van balsamico, rozemarijn, bloedsinaasappel en een mix van zwart fruit, met hints van mineraliteit. De wijn rijpte 39 maanden in eikenhouten vaten, voordat hij 10 maanden in de fles werd gezet. Heerlijk bij belegen kaas, wild of geroosterd rood vlees.
