Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Vermentino is een heldere en luchtige Italiaanse witte wijn met een zonnig mediterraan karakter, vergezeld van tongstrelende frisheid en rijp steenfruit. Deze versie komt uit de Toscaanse Bolgheri streek langs de kust, waar verkoelende zeewinden en warme zomerdagen de druiven helpen een perfecte rijpheid te bereiken met behoud van ruime zuren.

    De helft van de jonge wijn wordt gerijpt in roestvrijstalen tanks, terwijl de andere helft 8 maanden rijpt in eikenhouten vaten om extra complexiteit en een romige textuur aan de afgewerkte wijn toe te voegen. In de neus zijn er delicate hints van aromatische kruiden, pittige citrus en zilte tonen die doen denken aan de nabijgelegen zee. De eerste slok onthult een pittige zuurgraad, een gemiddelde body en een zuivere, zuivere afdronk, waardoor dit een uitstekende keuze is als aperitief of bij verse zeevruchten, salades met bladeren, sushi of visgerechten.

    De producent van deze heerlijke witte wijn is Grattamacco, een piepklein landgoed bovenop een heuvel met uitzicht op zee. Het terrein van 12 hectare werd in 1977 gekocht door Claudio Tipa, die ook eigenaar is van ColleMassari in het zuiden van Toscane. Grattamacco is gezegend met een uitzonderlijk microklimaat voor de druiventeelt en alle teelt op het landgoed gebeurt biologisch en duurzaam om de best mogelijke kwaliteit fruit te produceren.
