    De Wagners maken al generaties lang wijn in Napa en hun wortels gaan terug tot in de jaren 1850. Een halve eeuw geleden stichtten Lorna en Charlie, samen met hun zoon Chuck, Caymus Vineyards in Rutherford, dat nu is uitgegroeid tot een van de beroemdste wijnhuizen van de vallei. De Conundrum-serie wordt geleid door Chucks zoon Charlie, die directeur wijnmaken is en gespecialiseerd is in het maken van Bordeaux-wijnen in een zachtere, meer toegankelijke stijl dan de klassieke Caymus-wijnen.

    Deze levendige witte wijn is een mengsel van Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Muscat Canelli en Viognier, afkomstig uit de beste teeltgebieden van Californië. Elk ras en perceel wordt apart gevinifieerd om maximale controle over het mengproces mogelijk te maken. Een deel van de wijn rijpt in roestvrijstalen tanks en de rest rijpt tot 10 maanden in nieuwe en gebruikte eikenhouten vaten.

    Opvallende aroma's van kamperfoelie, abrikoos en peer komen onmiddellijk uit de neus, terwijl de eerste slok een gemiddelde body, een soepele textuur en een tongstrelende frisheid onthult die de wijn een perfecte balans geeft. Het levendige smaakprofiel maakt dit een uitstekende keuze om te combineren met pittige Aziatische curry's en salades, kruidig geroosterde kip of zelfs fajitas.
