Een onvergetelijke verjaardag met DAOU & Colomé Het vieren van mijn moeders verjaardag werd nog specialer dankzij twee ongelooflijke wijnen - DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 en Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. De ster van de avond was ongetwijfeld de DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Vanaf de eerste slok werden we omarmd door een rijke, fluweelzachte smaak. De diepe aroma's van donker fruit, hints van cacao en perfect gebalanceerd eikenhout zorgden ervoor dat elk glas aanvoelde als een ware verwennerij. Hij was gedurfd en toch elegant, een wijn die moeiteloos warmte en vreugde bracht aan onze bijeenkomst. Toen ik mijn moeder elke slok met een glimlach zag proeven, was het des te gedenkwaardiger. De Colomé Auténtico Malbec leverde ook prachtig, met zijn pure expressie van hooggelegen Malbec. Hij was krachtig, met rijpe bramen, kruiden en een zachte, aanhoudende afdronk - een uitstekende aanvulling op de avond. Deze wijnen versterkten niet alleen onze maaltijd; ze werden een deel van de viering, waardoor elke toast en elk gesprek een hoogtepunt werd. Hartelijk dank aan DAOU en Colomé voor het onvergetelijk maken van deze speciale gelegenheid!

    A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Wagner Wines produceert een kleine hoeveelheid Zinfandel, hoewel ze beter bekend zijn om hun Cabernet Sauvignon en wat ze daarmee doen is inmiddels legendarisch! Hij is zeer gewild vanwege zijn kwaliteit en beperkte productie. Zinfandel is een typisch Californische wijn, hoewel hij in Europa beter bekend is als Primitivo.

    Gemaakt van druiven die profiteren van de verkoelende effecten van de Stille Oceaan en de warme zon geven de perfecte omstandigheden voor superrijpe druiven met een hoog suikergehalte. De wijn kan worden vergist tot alcoholniveaus van meer dan 15%, wat de bovengrens nadert van waar de gisting van nature plaatsvindt. Op het oog is de kleur een rijke robijn.

    In de mond komen de smaken overeen met de neus. Donker fruit zoals braam en zwarte bes zijn zeer prominent aanwezig, maar een aangename hint van chocolade en specerijen vermengen zich prachtig. Het is een verfrissend fruitige wijn met veel alcohol en gemiddelde tannines, die zorgen voor een mooie balans in de wijn.
