    Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    De wijnmakers van Motto wilden een goede wijn maken, heel eenvoudig. Toen hun methoden hen de indruk gaven de grenzen te verleggen en niet zo klassiek te lijken als andere wijnmakers, besloten ze die perceptie te omarmen en er hun motto van te maken.

    Om textuur aan de wijn toe te voegen en toch het karakter en de frisheid van het ras te behouden, wordt een combinatie van eikenhouten vaten en roestvrijstalen tanks gebruikt om de wijn te laten rijpen. Bij de gisting worden de druiven gescheiden door de partijen waar ze vandaan komen, zodat ze zich afzonderlijk kunnen ontwikkelen en hun ware karakter kunnen onthullen. De wijn van de afzonderlijke partijen wordt vervolgens gemengd in verschillende verhoudingen voor elk oogstjaar om een klassieke donkere en gedurfde Californische wijn te presenteren met een eigen interpretatie.

    De wijn is mooi en donker in het glas. De eerste aroma's zijn explosies van heldere en opwindende fruittonen: veenbes, pruim en marionbes. Zodra het fruit wegebt, verwijderen zachte leerachtige tonen het fruitige randje. In de mond gaan de fruittonen over in donkere tonen van framboos en braam. Het leer maakt plaats voor zacht eikenhout en donkere chocolade.

    Bij het eten raadt de wijnmaker enkele van zijn favorieten aan: gegrilde kaas, gehaktbrood, BBQ-ribbetjes, gebakken kip, broodjes pulled pork en spaghetti met gehaktballen.
