    De familie Lavrenčič woont al minstens sinds 1499 in de Vipava-vallei in Slovenië, en al drie generaties lang maken ze hier wijn. In 2009 verliet Primoz Lavrenčič het familiebedrijf om zijn eigen project op te zetten, Burja genoemd naar de felle wind die door de vallei waait en een grote invloed heeft op alles, van het dagelijks leven tot de soorten gewassen die hier verbouwd kunnen worden.

    Primoz streeft ernaar zoveel mogelijk in harmonie met de natuur te werken en past zowel biologische als biodynamische wijnbouw toe. Hij gebruikt voornamelijk lokale druivensoorten die goed passen bij deze regio, die dicht bij de zee en de bergen ligt. Bela wordt gemaakt van Malvazija, Welschriesling, Rebula en Vipavec druiven die groeien op mergel- en zandsteenbodems in de vallei.

    Het fruit wordt zorgvuldig met de hand geoogst en 70% vergist in eikenhouten vaten en de rest in betonnen tanks. De jonge wijn rijpt vervolgens 11 maanden in eikenhouten vaten en wordt gebotteld zonder filtering of bewerking om het volledige natuurlijke karakter van de wijn te behouden. Het resultaat is een intense witte wijn met rijp tropisch en steenfruit in de neus en een rijke textuur en een gemiddelde body die in evenwicht wordt gehouden door een levendige zuurgraad.
    Toevoegen om te vergelijken
