Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Californische rode mengsels

    De rode blends van Californië

    Sommige van de beste wijnen van Californië zijn blends van zwarte druiven zoals Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot en Cabernet Franc. Deze klassieke combinatie is geïnspireerd op de rode blends van Bordeaux, waar aan de dominante Cabernet Sauvignon en Merlot andere druiven worden toegevoegd om een complexere en verfijndere wijn te maken. Een andere populaire Californische rode blend combineert Syrah, Grenache en Mourvedre, geïnspireerd op de populaire Franse blend uit de Rhônevallei.

    De belangrijkste regio's voor Californische rode blends

    Napa Valley is de beroemdste bron van hoogwaardige Californische rode blends dankzij de hete, droge zomerdagen en een enorme verscheidenheid aan microklimaten en bodemsoorten. Het gebied wordt meestal in twee delen verdeeld: de dalbodem, die warmer is en rijkere, rijpere rode wijnen voortbrengt, en de hellingen, waar koelere omstandigheden elegantere en verfijndere rode wijnen voortbrengen. De Napa subregio's die het meest bekend zijn voor Californische rode blends zijn Rutherford, Stags Leap District, St Helena en Oakville.
