    Het hoge Andesgebergte rijst op boven de groene wijngaarden van Vina Aquitania, dat in 1990 werd opgericht in de schitterende Maipo Vallei in Chili. Bordeaux-wijnmakers Bruno Prats en Paul Pontallier en hun Chileense vriend Felipe de Solminihac hadden een visie om heerlijke, gemakkelijke wijnen te maken van klassieke Bordeaux-variëteiten zoals Cabernet Sauvignon in wat toen een weinig bekend deel van de wijnwereld was.

    Heden ten dage staat Vina Aquitania bekend om zijn gemakkelijke en heerlijke Chileense wijnen die worden gemaakt in een strakke, moderne stijl met veel glans. Deze cuvee is genoemd naar de kostbare lapis lazuli steen en wordt alleen tijdens de allerbeste jaargangen gemaakt van op het landgoed geteeld fruit. Hij rijpt 16 maanden in nieuwe Franse eiken vaten voordat hij klaar is om gebotteld te worden.

    Mooie cassis, donkere kersen en veel wilde bessen domineren in de mond, terwijl de eerste slok stevige tannines, een volle body en een lange, aanhoudende afdronk onthult. Het krachtige maar evenwichtige smaakprofiel maakt dit een geweldige wijn om van te genieten bij informele diners of barbecues met stevige rode vleesgerechten. Goede combinaties zijn een ribeye steak, wild, ribbetjes, of zelfs een rijke moussaka of lasagne.

    Today Vina Aquitania is known for its easy-going and delicious Chilean wines which are made in a clean, modern style with plenty of polish. This cuvee is named after the precious lapis lazuli stone and is only made during the very best vintages from estate-grown fruit. It’s aged in new French oak barrels for 16 months before it's deemed ready for bottling. Luscious cassis, dark cherry and plenty of wild berry notes dominate on the palate, while the first sip reveals firm tannins, a full body, and a long, lingering finish. The bold yet balanced flavour profile makes this a great wine to enjoy alongside casual dinners
