    Gelegen in Toscane, tussen de heuvels van de Chianti Classico, is de Tenuta di Arceno omgeven door ongeveer 90 hectare wijngaarden op een hoogte tussen 300 en 450 meter. De samenstelling van de bodem bestaat uit klei, graniet en basalt. Dit type bodem is ideaal voor de wijnbouw, omdat het de afwatering vergemakkelijkt en de warmte van de zon naar de plant reflecteert, waardoor de druiven beter kunnen rijpen.

    Naast de oorspronkelijke wijngaarden zijn er in de jaren negentig nieuwe aanplantingen bijgekomen, waardoor er meer dan 60 verschillende percelen zijn ontstaan. De meeste daarvan bestaan uit Merlot, Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc en Syrah. De dichtheid in de wijngaarden is meer dan 5000 planten per hectare met een gereduceerde opbrengst van 6,7 ton.

    De wijn toont een heldere en intense robijnrode kleur.De neus wisselt verleidelijke tonen van wilde bessenjam af met diepere tonen van kreupelhout, met harsachtige trekken en hints van oosterse kruiden. In de mond toont hij een rijke maar elegante textuur. Hij is fris en vol, met dichte en rijpe tannines. De afdronk is aanhoudend met hartig-kruidige tonen. Uitstekend bij pappardelle met wild zwijn, Florentijnse biefstuk en oude kazen.
