Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Portugese wijnen

    Portugese wijnen

    Portugal exporteert zijn wijnen al sinds de dagen van het Romeinse Rijk en herbergt een van de oudste beschermde wijngebieden ter wereld, de Dourovallei. Hoewel Portugal vooral bekend is om zijn versterkte portwijnen, produceert het bijna elke denkbare soort wijn, van knapperige, verfrissende witte wijnen tot krachtige droge rode wijnen die tientallen jaren bewaard kunnen worden.

    De belangrijkste wijngebieden van Portugal

    De beroemdste wijnstreek in Portugal die de beste Portugese wijn produceert is de Dourovallei, waar het hete, droge klimaat en de steile wijngaarden op de heuvels intens smakende zwarte druiven voortbrengen. Het fruit dat hier geteeld wordt, wordt gebruikt voor versterkte portwijnen en volle droge wijnen. Noord-Portugal heeft een koeler klimaat en staat bekend om zijn lichte, elegante Vinho Verde witte wijnen die vaak een lichte sprankeling hebben. Andere belangrijke Portugese wijngebieden zijn Dao en Bairrada voor rode wijnen en Alentejo in het zuiden.

    Portugese druivensoorten

    Er zijn meer dan 250 soorten inheemse Portugese wijnen die worden gebruikt om een verscheidenheid aan wijnstijlen en -soorten te maken. Versterkte portwijnen worden meestal gemaakt van Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Francesa en Tinta Barroca. Vinho Verde witte wijnen worden gemaakt van Alvarinho, de Portugese naam voor Albarino, en Loureiro druiven. Deze pittige Portugese witte wijnen passen goed bij de verse zeevruchten van het land, terwijl hartige vleesgerechten passen bij de sterkere Portugese rode wijnen.
