    Deze verbluffende Malbec is voornamelijk gemaakt van topkwaliteit fruit van Finca Mendel, een historische single vineyard site die werd aangeplant in 1928 rond de Mendel bodega. Het perceel ligt op een hoogte van 900 meter boven zeeniveau, wat helpt om de aroma's en frisheid in het fruit te behouden, terwijl de leeftijd van de wijnstokken zorgt voor rijke en geconcentreerde smaken. Kleine hoeveelheden Cabernet Sauvignon en Petit Verdot worden ook toegevoegd aan de cuvee om extra gewicht en complexiteit toe te voegen.

    Verpletterde bosbessen, cassis en donkere pruimen bepalen de neus, samen met hints van gedroogde viooltjes. De eerste slok onthult een gulle volle body, een zeer soepele textuur en stevige tannines die goed zullen reageren op verdere kelderopslag. De wijn heeft 15 maanden gerijpt in eiken barriques, wat hints van kruidnagel en kaneel toevoegt, evenals aantrekkelijke geroosterde tonen op de lange afdronk.

    Gebouwd in 1928 is Mendel een van de oudste wijnhuizen van Mendoza. In 2002 werd het gekocht door de familie Sielecki, die een partnerschap is aangegaan met de Argentijnse topwijnmaker Roberto de la Mota. De filosofie van het wijnhuis is om Europees geïnspireerde wijnen te maken met een ruime elegantie en rijpheid en een uitgesproken Argentijnse ziel.
