    Edi Simčič stichtte zijn wijnhuis in 1990 met slechts 9 hectare grond in de heuvels van Gorizia, een van Sloveniës meest gewaardeerde wijnbouwgebieden. Dicht bij de grens met Italië geniet het land van een mild mediterraan klimaat en bescherming tegen de sterke Bora-wind. De omstandigheden zijn hier ideaal voor de productie van volle maar elegante witte wijnen en gepeperde en kruidige rode wijnen van typisch Sloveense druivenrassen.

    Duet werd geïnspireerd door het tweeledige concept om een wijn te maken die zowel iets bevredigends biedt om te drinken als aantrekkelijk is voor echte wijnkenners. De wijn is samengesteld uit de klassieke Bordeaux rassen Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc en rijpte 24-30 maanden in eikenhouten vaten om extra complexiteit en smaakdiepte toe te voegen.

    Het resultaat is een kruidige, volle rode wijn die barst van de rijke aroma's van zwarte bessen, zwarte kersen en bessen, gekruid met hints van sigarendooskruiden, zoethout en gedroogde kruiden. De eerste slok onthult een goed ontwikkelde structuur en soepele tannines die de komende ongeveer acht jaar sierlijk zullen reageren op een langere kelder. Het gedurfde smaakprofiel maakt dit een uitstekende partner voor rood vlees, wild en stevige pastagerechten.
