    Dit is de vlaggenschipwijn van Chateau Fontenil, een grote en gedurfde rechteroever blend uit het hart van Bordeaux. Samengesteld uit 90% Merlot en 10% Cabernet Franc, barst deze wijn van de geuren van gezwollen zwarte bessen, kersen en bramenjam, ondersteund door hints van lavendel en zoethout. Hij is dieppaarsrood van kleur en een uitstekende keuze voor iedereen die van serieuze, fruitige rode wijnen houdt.

    Chateau Fontenil is het persoonlijke project van de gewaardeerde Bordeaux wijnmakers Michel en Dany Rolland, gelegen in de appellatie Fronsac. Het is een land van losse, rotsachtige klei en kalksteen, met diepe kalklagen die kracht en sterke mineraliteit geven aan de druiven die hier groeien.

    Chateau Fontenil's Fronsac is een volle rode wijn, met een prachtige textuur en dichte lagen fruit. In de mond proef je een mengeling van zwarte haagbessen, pruimen, verse kruiden en tabak, verheven door een pittige zuurgraad die door elk glas stroomt. De afdronk wordt gedefinieerd door een kalkachtige mineraliteit. De wijn rijpte 15 tot 18 maanden in Franse eikenhouten vaten voordat hij werd gebotteld en kan gemakkelijk meer dan tien jaar rijpen na zijn oogstjaar. Overweeg om Fronsac te combineren met geroosterd wild, gerijpte kaas of confit.
