    Wijnhuis Mendel, wereldwijd bekend om zijn uitzonderlijke Malbec en Cabernet Sauvignon wijnen, ligt in het hart van de Argentijnse wijnstreek Mendoza en bezit wijngaarden in Lujan de Cuyo en Altamira. Het bedrijf wordt geleid door Anabelle Sielecki samen met de beroemde wijnmaker Roberto de la Mota. De naam van het bedrijf is een eerbetoon van de eigenares aan haar vader.

    De Cabernet Sauvignon druiven komen van de wijngaarden van Finca de los Andes gelegen in Perdriel, in Luján de Cuyo, op een hoogte van 1.050 meter boven zeeniveau. De wijnstokken, die meer dan 25 jaar oud zijn, zijn ongeënt. Na de gisting rijpt de wijn 12 maanden in Franse eiken vaten (waarvan een derde nieuw) en nog eens 6 maanden in de fles.

    De wijn heeft een diepe en dichte kleur met robijnrode tinten. De neus onthult intense aroma's van cassis, bosbessen en andere bosbessen, verweven met tonen van peper, vanille en karamel. In de mond is hij geconcentreerd en vol, elegant en zeer evenwichtig. Hij heeft een levendige zuurgraad en zachte, rijpe tannines. Hij is rond en levendig en onthult een lange en fluweelzachte afdronk. Hij is perfect bij gegrild vlees, vooral rundvlees, maar ook bij geroosterde paddenstoelen en sommige rijke vegetarische recepten.
