    Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    De familie Glaetzer zijn pioniers van de Barossa, die in 1888 in de vallei aankwamen nadat ze vanuit Brandenberg in Duitsland naar Australië waren geëmigreerd. Colin Glaetzer richtte zijn eigen wijnmakerij op in 1995, nadat hij voor plaatselijke producenten had gewerkt, waaronder het Barossa Valley landgoed. Volgens de familietraditie werd zijn zoon Ben ook wijnmaker en op de jonge leeftijd van 26 jaar werd hij bekroond tot Qantas Young Winemaker of the Year.

    Deze krachtige rode blend is genoemd naar "Anna Perenna", een Romeinse godin die in verband wordt gebracht met het nieuwe jaar, en is voornamelijk samengesteld uit Shiraz, samen met een kleinere hoeveelheid Cabernet Sauvignon-druiven. Het fruit komt van topwijngaarden in de koelere Ebenezer subregio in het noorden van de Barossa. De Shiraz-stokken zijn 30-100 jaar oud, terwijl de Cabernet in leeftijd varieert van 30-130 jaar. Het hoge aandeel extreem oude wijnstokken draagt bij aan een rijke, weelderige wijnstijl met veel intens fruit en gedroogd fruit.

    De druiven worden gevinifieerd in open-top fermentoren en de jonge wijn rijpt vervolgens 16 maanden in nieuwe Franse eiken vaten. De wijn wordt vervolgens zonder filtering gebotteld om de volle schoonheid van het fruit en het terroir te laten zien. Het resultaat is een krachtige, volle rode wijn met ruime tannines en een stevige structuur die barst van de donkere bessen, kruiden en specerijen.
