    Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Het gerenommeerde Toscaanse wijnhuis Fattoria Le Pupille is vooral bekend om zijn populaire Supertuscan wijn Saffredi. De stellaire reputatie is te danken aan Elisabetta Geppetti die het landgoed op 20-jarige leeftijd erfde van haar familie in het midden van de jaren 1980. Dankzij haar visie en vooruitziende blik slaagde zij erin het domein om te vormen van een gewone, middelmatige wijnmakerij tot een van de belangrijkste lichtpunten van de regio en zette ze Morellino di Scansano op de kaart voor Supertuscan wijnen van topkwaliteit.

    De wijngaarden van het domein liggen op een hoogte van 300 meter boven de zeespiegel, omstandigheden die bijdragen aan het behoud van frisheid en aroma's in de wijnen dankzij de koelere nachten en warme zomerdagen. Het domein is nu in de capabele handen van Elisabetta's dochter Clara, die haar eigen stempel drukt op het merk met nieuwe innovaties en experimenten.

    Poggio Valente is een prachtige kennismaking met de stijl van Le Pupille. Deze 100% Sangiovese cuvee is een single vineyard wijn geteeld op heuvelachtige grond rijk aan klei, zandsteen en zand. De omstandigheden hier zijn ideaal voor premium wijnbouw, waardoor een elegante, evenwichtige wijn ontstaat met alle natuurlijke schoonheid van de Sangiovese druif. Verwacht veel heldere rode kersen en hints van wild, aarde en bosgrond op een medium body, zachte tannines en een lange, aanhoudende afdronk.
