    Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Erath winery is een van de oudste producenten in Oregon's Dundee Hills dankzij de visionaire wijnmaker Dick Erath die zijn eerste vat wijn maakte in zijn garage. Dick maakte oorspronkelijk carrière als ingenieur voordat hij ging studeren aan UC Davis, een beroemde wijnbouwschool in Californië, en in de jaren zestig besloot zijn gezin te verhuizen naar de woeste heuvels van de Chehalem Mountains in Oregon.

    Dick experimenteerde op zijn land met zo'n 23 verschillende rassen voordat hij ontdekte dat Pinot Noir hier goed gedijde. Hij hielp in de jaren zeventig Franse klonen naar Oregon te importeren en in 1984 werd een van zijn wijnen door Wine & Spirits uitgeroepen tot "Beste Amerikaanse Pinot Noir".

    Het wijnhuis blinkt tegenwoordig nog steeds uit in het maken van eersteklas Pinot Noir, zoals deze klassieke botteling die gemaakt is in een gemakkelijk drinkbare, fruitige stijl. De neus barst van de rijpe rode kersen, rode bessen en aardbeien, samen met ondertonen van granaatappel, geurige lavendel en anijs. In de mond is er een evenwichtig smaakprofiel met soepele tannines, een goed afgeronde textuur en een zuivere, schone afdronk met een heldere zuurgraad. Probeer te combineren met gerechten op basis van tomaten, zoals verse pasta geserveerd met een ragu-saus of zelfs licht gekruide Indiase curry's.
