    Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Een van de oudste landgoederen in de Zuidelijke Rhône, Domaine du Grand Tinel werd eind 1700 gesticht onder de naam Chateauneuf Calcernier. In 1906 werd het landgoed een van de eerste producenten van Chateauneuf du Pape die daadwerkelijk hun eigen wijnen gingen bottelen. Tegenwoordig heeft het domein 56 hectare wijngaarden met een uitzonderlijke verscheidenheid aan grondsoorten en een aanzienlijk aandeel oude wijnstokken die bijdragen aan de productie van zeer complexe en intense wijnen.

    De klassieke Chateauneuf du Pape wijn van het domaine bestaat voornamelijk uit Grenache samen met een kleiner aandeel Syrah en Mourvedre geplant op rotsachtige en zandige bodems. Na de vinificatie wordt de jonge wijn 16 maanden gerijpt in een combinatie van grote vaten, fusten en tanks om complexiteit en polijsting toe te voegen voordat hij wordt gebotteld en vrijgegeven.

    De neus is onstuimig en gelaagd en opent met weelderige cassis-, bramen- en pruimentonen samen met hints van houtrook, tabaksblad en gedroogd fruit zoals rozijnen en vijgen. De eerste slok onthult een robuuste volle body, stevige tannines en een goed gebouwde structuur. Een geweldige wijn om te combineren met stevige rode vleesgerechten of om nog een paar jaar in de kelder te bewaren.
