    Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    De wijnlijn Chateau Julia maakt deel uit van het wijnhuis Domaine Costa Lazaridi, gelegen in Oost-Macedonië, in het wijnproductiegebied Drama.

    Chateau Julia Merlot is een indrukwekkende en zeer succesvolle Griekse rode wijn, geproduceerd met de hulp van de beroemde Franse vliegende wijnmaker Michel Rolland. De Merlot druiven komen van de wijngaarden van het landgoed in Drama en worden alleen geoogst als ze perfect rijp zijn. Na een lange maceratie van 15 dagen wordt de wijn vervolgens gerijpt in Franse eikenhouten barriques (waarvan 40% nieuw), gedurende minstens 12 maanden.

    De wijn heeft een intense robijnrode kleur en violette reflecties aan de randen. Het aromatisch profiel is explosief met intense aroma's van rijp donker fruit (wilde kersen, pruimen, bramen en bosbessen), zoete specerijen (vanille, kruidnagel en kaneel) en vervolgens tertiaire tonen van tabak, peper, koffie en chocolade. In de mond is hij complex, vol, rijk en met uitbundige en geconcentreerde smaken. De zuurgraad is levendig en de tannines zijn stevig maar fluweelzacht. De afdronk is warm en aanhoudend. Hij is perfect bij gegrild rood vlees geserveerd met aromatische sauzen, gebraden gevogelte en kaas van gemiddelde leeftijd.
