    Clos des Epeneaux is een historische wijngaard in het hart van de Pommard regio in Bourgondië. Hij is beroemd om een paar redenen: ten eerste om zijn omvang, want hij strekt zich uit over 5,23 hectare van de Cote de Beaune. Ten tweede bevat het enkele van de oudste wijnstokken in de regio, waarvan vele meer dan 100 jaar oud zijn. Om Clos des Epeneaux te proeven, moet je naar Domaine du Comte Armand, een gewaardeerd wijnhuis dat het monopolie heeft op de hele wijngaard.

    Sinds 2014 is Paul Zinetti de wijnmaker van Comte Armand, een man die weet hoe hij het beste uit deze 5 hectare kan halen. Clos des Epeneaux begint met een prachtig bouquet van framboos, granaatappel, sinaasappelschil en subtiele gedroogde paddenstoelen.

    In de mond kan deze Pinot Noir alles wat je weet over Pommard herdefiniëren. Hij brengt een zekere elegantie als tegenwicht voor de kracht die vaak met de regio wordt geassocieerd, met zijdezachte tannines en een strakke zuurgraad. Zoek naar smaken van cranberry, scherp haagfruit en sigarendoos, samen met hints van bosgrond en scherpe mineraliteit. Overweeg om Clos des Epeneaux te combineren met geroosterd gevogelte, bourguignon van rundvlees of geroosterde groenten.
