    Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Gelegen ten oosten van de Saint-Emilion DOC, in de gemeente Saint-Etienne de Lisse, heeft het Château Mangot een zeer oude oorsprong die teruggaat tot ongeveer 5 eeuwen geleden. In 1954 werd het landgoed gekocht door Simone en Jean Petit, die met veel werk het landgoed van Château La Brande, gelegen binnen de AOC Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux, samenvoegden. Het bedrijf, nu geleid door Karl en Yann, neven van Simone en Jean, is biologisch gecertificeerd en beoefent duurzame wijnbouw, zonder gebruik van synthetische producten om de impact op het milieu te beperken.

    De wijngaard, die zich uitstrekt over 34 hectare tussen hellingen, terrassen, plateaus en vlakke gebieden op kalkhoudende grond, ligt op het volle zuiden. Het grote percentage kalksteen in de bodem verrijkt de structuur van de wijn en garandeert een goede minerale ader. De afgewerkte wijn rijpt ongeveer 15 maanden in eikenhouten vaten. Het resultaat is een elegante wijn met een sterk karakter, die goed kan rijpen.

    De wijn heeft een intense robijnrode kleur en een aangenaam aromatisch profiel, rijk aan tonen van rijp rood fruit en zoete specerijen. In de mond is hij vol en goed gestructureerd met zachte tannines en een goed geïntegreerde zuurgraad. De afdronk is lang en verleidelijk met lichte kruidige tonen. Hij is uitstekend bij gegrild rood vlees of lamsvlees.
